Before booking my trip to Bend, I called the hotel and asked for a later check out at 1 PM. I have been traveling for business and I was going to be up late so I wanted to make sure that I would have enough time in the morning to get rest, upon arrival, the first room smelt like a dog bath we were transferred to a different room which was OK but there was dog hair on the bed got woke up at 11 AM from housekeeping immediately got a phone call from the front desk telling me that I had to get out of my room I do not recommend this place. They are not respectful they take your money and not do what they say they’re gonna do. $10 to park get real.
First upon arriving and checking in we were told that to park on the lot it was a $10 a night fee. Once in the room the lamp shades were broken the shower pan was cracked the stand the refrigerator and microwave was on was so old and used that where people rest their hands was worn down to white from the wood color it should have had. The pull out couch bed had old dirty sheets and the one blanket in the closet and a dark brown/black thick hair on it. When I went to the front desk to tell him about the damage, I was told that there was renovations being made. Why not give notice or renovation rate instead of top dollar rate expecting something that definitely is not. Once I went back to the room, noticed the pullout couch sheet issue and called to the front desk. I was told that they will look and hopefully find sheets for that bed. luckily she was able to find sheets. However, we did have to provide our own blankets that we just so happen to have in our vehicle. The $10 parking fee was a slap in the face and the $13 per person “ continental breakfast” was just unheard of. We travel quite often and stay at many hotels. Unfortunately, our choice of hotel was not available in this area. Never once have we had to pay for parking or a continental breakfast. I think things definitely need to be reevaluated, especially when it comes to things being renovated and still paying top dollar price without being notified before hand. The purpose for our trip is my brother is getting married and lives just a few miles down the road so we were coming to visit and check out different hotels in the area where all of our family could fly into and stay. Unfortunately this will not be an option. I also forgot to mention that the rooms AC/heater unit was not in working order. It was on some kind of auto where it just turned on and made the temperature of the room as it pleased and we had no control over it. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and hard. The lady at the front desk upon check in was very nice and friendly. None of the issues discussed were related to her! We did also receive a phone call about a personal pillow left behind and we did appreciate that!!
The real problem came during the checkout process and after my stay.
After checkout I drive 30 minutes to the airport I notice my wedding ring is not on my finger. I remember I left it on the bathroom sink of the hotel when I was washing my hands. I call the hotel and tell the front desk. To which he said he would have house keeping check. I call back 15 minutes later to check if they found it, the man insisted it was not there. He said he went in and searched EVERYWHERE with a flashlight, even got on his hands and knees. I asked if I could come look myself as I KNEW it was there. He got defensive and said there was no reason for me to come it is not there and the room has already been searched, cleaned, and is ready for the next guest. I insisted I am coming back to search as I would not be leaving town knowing my ring is in that room. I drive the 30 minutes back to the hotel in tears, once I got there the man I spoke with walked me up to the room, repeating how much he searched and had everyone search. As soon as I walked in I went right to the “clean” bathroom sink and behind the tissue box there is my wedding ring! Mind you, if someone had wiped down this sink would’ve seen my ring. Yet there it was! He made me feel like I was crazy for even coming back and looking, it was like I was bothering him! And once I found it I didn’t even get an apology, nothing!
Also during my stay I bought snacks from their front desk. Upon opening the popcorn the entire bag ripped and popcorn fell everywhere. There is no vacuum in the room so I was unable to clean it up. I tried my best to get what I could, asked housekeeping what to do, they said it’s fine and to leave it. So I did, and left a generous tip for housekeeping. Only to discover they charged me 20$ for the popcorn on the floor. I don’t understand what more I could’ve done to clean it? Ridiculous.
I am beyond upset at the events that took place, and the level of annoyance I received for looking for my wedding ring. What if a guest had been checked in like they wanted and seen my ring sitting there? Just a big disappointment with the way everything was handled.
Upon our initial check-in, we were pleased with the swift and efficient service. The front desk staff understood our needs, resulting in an upgraded room. The hotel's advantageous proximity to numerous restaurants, coupled with its serene surroundings, made our stay even more appealing. We appreciated the convenience of strolling to downtown for dinner and then returning to the peaceful ambiance of the hotel. A truly pleasant experience overall.
Room with the jet tub was quite nice! One of the jets was broken though.
They provide a teeny shampoo for the tub, and that's it? And you can't yank the soap and conditioner off the wall from the shower, so I'm not sure what the plan was there.
Bed was comfy, walls were thick enough that we could only hear when someone opened their door.
The TV situation of weird. They are small, and angled strangely in back the corner of the room. Overall, there is not much storage space, and no fold-out luggage stand.
I wouldn't choose to stay here again, but it was fine for one night.
My room was dusty when I came in. No problem, towels were stained, no problem. I went to take a shower, the water wouldn’t drain and created a pool at the bottom and random hairs came up. I was disgusted. Pictures don’t show hairs properly, …
Room only had 2 towels and that would of been fine if we only showered when we got there after a long drive and not the next day. Let alone the pool and spa had zero towels to dry off after getting out. If that wasn't good enough upon …
$13 dollars for the breakfast buffet??
Everything else was great, especially the location. You can easily walk down to the shops, coffee, and Deschutes Brewing. Nice bed and shower. All I'm looking for in a good hotel. I would recommend!
